This house-building series is an improved heiress of the "ship" and a long-liver of the St. Petersburg real estate market. Its main distinguishing feature is the L-shaped kitchen windows. The standard equipment of the apartment is parquet floors, and with the onset of the 2000s, metal-plastic frames with double-glazed windows. Kitchens can have both gas and electric stoves.

Being mastered in the 80s of the twentieth century, this series was built with minor changes until the middle of the first decade of the 2000s. In 2001, a modification appeared that did not have L-shaped windows, but the previous version also continued to be built, and if the houses of the pre-market period were most often painted yellow, then modern developers chose very radical facade colors for their houses. Unlike DSK-2, the manufacturer of the "six hundredth" series - DSK-3 (known to us from the five-story buildings of the GI series and the "ships" Avtovsky DSK) - remained stable in the face of economic shocks.

The houses of the 1-Lg-600.11 series retained some features of their predecessors - the extremely concise and economical "ships" of the 1-Lg-600 series, however, getting rid of their main shortcomings. The outer walls in these houses are also made of aerated concrete panels, although they are warmer than those of the prototype.

During the heyday of industrial housing construction, production volumes at DSK-3 reached 400 thousand square meters. m per year, but already in the market period, the 600.11 series remained popular with developers. In particular, in the past decade, about 20% of housing under construction in St. Petersburg was represented by houses of the 600.11 series, apartments in which attracted attention with decent and stable quality, as well as quite affordable prices.

The L-shaped windows of the kitchens, which have become a kind of “calling card” of the 600.11 series houses, evoke not the most positive associations with the “ship” among potential newcomers. However, as the designers once said, it was originally assumed that with relatively small area kitchens a narrow window will allow you to more rationally place furniture and win additional space. At the same time, the shape and dimensions of the upper window made it possible to fit a standard Soviet-made air conditioner into it. The noisy air conditioners "Baku" did not take root in our climate, but the vents remained.

And one more feature. The outer wall of aerated concrete is not the best place to place hanging shelves and cabinets: a nail is easily hammered into it, but it can also be removed without difficulty. Therefore, the 600.11 series in the 2001 version provided for the rejection of L-shaped windows. Kitchens have become larger, and the need for austerity in space has disappeared. The technology for the production of exterior walls from lightweight and environmentally friendly aerated concrete helped DSK-3 easily survive the tightened heat saving standards. At a time when other manufacturers began to use insulating layers based on mineral wool and polymers, in the houses under construction of the 600.11 series, only slightly (from 24 to 32 cm) increased the thickness of the outer walls, triple glazing and energy-saving double-glazed windows began to be used.

The reason for the interest of developers of the recent past in such houses is purely economic: a square meter in a panel house should be affordable. For example, the nomenclature of the old versions of the series provides for one-room apartments of 37 sq. m, two-room apartments - 55 sq. m, three-room apartments - 66 and 72 sq. m. In the 2001 version, there are one-room apartments of 45 sq. m, two-room apartments - 60 and 70 sq. m, the footage of a standard "three-ruble note" - 82 sq. m.

Standard apartments in houses of the 600.11 series do not differ much in layouts. On each floor there are four apartments (one-room, two-room and two double-sided three-room apartments). Each apartment has a balcony. Kitchens are the same everywhere and almost the correct square shape (8.26 square meters in the old version, 10.84 in the modernized one). Among the advantages of the series is the safe design of the staircase and elevator assembly: the landing has no dark corners and is clearly visible. In the 2001 version, the sites themselves became more spacious. In suburban areas, there are low-rise modifications (from four to six floors). Moreover, in four- and five-story buildings there are no elevators.

The quality of the built houses in this series varies greatly, depending on the year of construction and the ambitions of developers when it comes to houses of the market period: after all, they tried to position apartments in such houses and as housing superior comfort, and as the most democratic.

Series 600.11

The successor of "Ships", produced at the 3rd DSC, has lost some of its originality, but the windows in the shape of the letter "G" became the "highlight" of the series. After the restructuring, the series continued to be built for about 5-10 years, only slightly modified, after which more improved versions began to appear (for example, without hexagonal windows. Until recently, such houses were built by various companies in different parts of the city and have up to 10 storeys and different, sometimes bizarre No new houses in this series were built after about 2015. In the heyday of industrial housing construction, production volumes at DSK-3 reached 400 thousand square meters per year. Apartments in such houses attract attention at a very affordable price. kitchens, which have become a kind of "visiting card" of the 600.11 series of houses, do not cause the most positive associations with the "ship" among potential newcomers and often persuade visitors to real estate agencies in favor of other series. Representatives of sales departments sometimes have to come up with different explanations for this architectural touch ("so stronger "," so cheaper ", etc.).

Meanwhile, the point here is not at all in cheapness or durability. Initially, it was assumed that with a relatively small area of the kitchen, a narrow window would allow more rational placement of furniture and gain additional space, and the shape and size of the upper window made it possible to fit a standard Soviet-made air conditioner into it. True, "Baku" air conditioners somehow did not take root in our kitchen windows.

And further. The outer wall of aerated concrete is not the best place to place hanging shelves and cabinets: a nail is easily hammered into it, but it can also be removed without difficulty. Therefore, the 600.11 series in the 1999 version provides for the rejection of l-shaped windows, and the landings themselves have become more spacious. Kitchens have become larger, and the need for austerity in space has disappeared.

The technology for the production of external walls from lightweight and environmentally friendly aerated concrete helped DSK-3 to easily survive the tightened heat saving standards. At a time when other manufacturers began to use insulating layers based on mineral wool and polymers, in the houses under construction of the 600.11 series, only slightly (from 24 to 32 cm) increased the thickness of the outer walls and began to use triple glazing. However, according to representatives of the technical services, it was more of a psychological measure than an urgent need: 24 centimeters of aerated concrete "keep" heat about the same as 80 centimeters of a brick wall. Houses of the 600.11 series have proven themselves not only in St. Petersburg, but also in regions with a much more severe climate, for example, in Urengoy.

The houses of the previous versions of the 600.11 series were built until recently. The reason for the developers' interest in them is purely economic: a panel house should be relatively inexpensive. For example, the nomenclature of the former "old" options provides for one-room apartments of 37 square meters. m, two-room apartments - 55 sq. m, three-room apartments - 66 and 72 sq.m. In the new one - the area of one-room apartments is 45 square meters. m, two-room apartments - 60 and 70 sq. m, the footage of a standard "three-ruble note" - 82 sq. m. It is easy to calculate that at a price of $ 400 per sq. m. m more spacious one-room apartment will be more expensive by $ 3200. The difference is rather big, considering that we are talking about economy class housing.

Standard apartments in houses of the 600.11 series do not differ much in layouts. On each floor there are four apartments (one-room, two-room and two double-sided three-room apartments). Each apartment has a balcony. Kitchens are the same everywhere and almost the correct square shape (8.26 sq. m in the old version, 10.84 in the modernized one). Among the advantages of the series can be attributed to the "safe" design of the stair-elevator unit: the landing has no dark corners and is clearly visible.

  • 1LG-600.11 1989-2002

1LG-600.11, modification under construction since 1989. The only difference from the Soviet version is the trapezium-shaped elevator front superstructure. The L-shaped windows of the kitchens have been left. In some houses, the owners of the apartments changed the windows of their kitchens, removing a piece of the panel above the window, and thus the kitchen window became rectangular, double-leaf. There is only one serial configuration. All other houses have a variety of shapes and number of storeys. Even though each section may be half a panel apart from the previous one, there are also corner sections. In houses built after 2000, shortened sections began to appear. In 2002 the last houses of this type were commissioned.

Serial configurations:

  • 600.11 1999-2015

“600.11, a modification under construction since 1999. Since the beginning of the new century, the series has changed, not that dramatically, but quite strongly. The area of kitchens, rooms and, accordingly, apartments has increased. Kitchen windows in all apartments do not have vents - they are double doors. Most of the houses with short sections. In this modification, there are many houses with balconies on both sides of the front doors, and in one house there can be both such sections and ordinary ones, and most often they are shortened. The last house of the 600.11 series was commissioned in 2015.

When it comes to typical houses, built of panels or bricks, it seems to an unprepared person that they are all the same. But with a detailed study of the issue, one can not only learn to distinguish between houses of 137 and 602 series, but also trace the development of design ideas that have gone from the creation of pre-fabricated analogues of spacious "stalinok" with similar areas and ceiling height, through the most cramped and extremely cheap "Khrushchev" up to modern standard projects, which are in no way inferior to their competitors, made according to individual projects.

Panel "stalinka" 1-506 . Houses were built on Okhta, Kantemirovskaya Street and one on Petrogradka (the only panel building in the Petrogradsky District).

Panel GI. The houses of this series were built from 1959 to 1968. The outer walls are made of lightweight aerated concrete panels. The walls were not decorated with anything - just painted slabs. There are no balconies. The cocoon has special boxes for growing flowers - so that the house does not look completely empty.

Panel GI point. Unlike the multi-entrance version, the point house of the GI series includes 1- and 2-room apartments. There is a light lantern on top to illuminate the entrance.

Panel OD. It is completely identical to the K-7 series being built in Moscow and other cities of the Soviet Union. There is also a hostel.

Panel 1-335 . For appearance 1-335 are characterized by wide apartment windows (double windows look square and on average 10 cm wider than other Khrushchev houses of that period), elongated windows on the stairwells, almost the entire height of the panel. End walls without balconies, consist of 4 panels, two panels with windows in the center or at the edges. The largest number houses of this series were built in St. Petersburg, where they were produced by Polyustrovskiy DSK - 289 buildings, in total 1442 sections in the Krasnogvardeisky and Kalininsky districts of the city.

Panel 1-LG-502. The material of the panels is the same expanded clay concrete as in the 1-335 series. The main development area is the Nevsky and Frunzensky districts. In terms of heat loss, houses of the OD series "compete" only with 1-335. And often lose even to them. There are also cramped combined bathrooms with an area of about 2 square meters. m, 5-meter kitchens.

Panel 1-507 series. These five-story buildings were assembled from "lightweight" expanded clay concrete with mineral wool insulation.

Panel 1-507 series, modification in 7 floors. Equipped with elevators and garbage chutes.

Panel 1-LG-504. Further development of the 507 series, produced at the same Kuznetsovsky DSK. Early houses in terms of comfort and area of apartments did not differ much from the previous "Khrushchev", but the later 504D2, which had grown to 10 floors, had spacious rooms and a kitchen with two windows. They were built both in St. Petersburg and in the suburbs.

Panel 1-LG-504, 12 floors. These houses have a smoke-free staircase with common transitional balconies, and on the first floor there can be both apartments and shops.

Panel 1-LG-600"Ship". The construction of houses of the 600th series was carried out by Avtovsky DSK according to the Polish project revised by LenNIIproekt from 1967 to 1982 in Leningrad and its suburbs. There are 5, 9, 12 and 15-story (the latter - only point) houses of this series.

Panel 1-LG-600U. Notable for the increased area of the kitchens of 3-room apartments. 15-storey houses were built, as a rule, with multiple entrances.

Panel 600.11. Further development of the legendary "ship". Initially, they had L-shaped kitchen windows (for installing Baku window air conditioners), in the late 90s they began to install traditional-shaped windows.

Panel 1-LG-602. this is one of the most famous and massive series of houses in Leningrad. Such houses were built from 1966 to 1982. The first house in this series is located at 39 Prazhskaya Ulitsa. The houses were built by Nevsky, Obukhovsky (DSK-2) and Polyustrovskiy (DSK-1) house-building factories.

Panel 1-LG-606 early. Construction panel houses The 606th series was carried out according to the LenNIIproekt project by Nevsky DSK-6. Apartments in the houses of the series have parquet floors in the rooms and separate bathrooms. Room area - 8-18 sq. meters.

Panel 1-LG-606M. Built from 1971 to 1989.

Panel 1-LG-606M 14-storey with side 9-storey sections.

Panel BS. They were built exclusively in the area of the Primorskaya metro station in 1967-1970. The first block-section houses of 9-12-16 floors with a more progressive layout and a unified staircase and elevator assembly - the same LLU was used for buildings of different heights. In the 9 and 12 storey block sections, they differ only in the presence of a passenger-and-freight elevator in the 12-storey version. Many of the techniques worked out here were further developed in the first version of the 137 series.

Panel 137 series. The first house was built in Kupchino in 1973 from components produced by DSK-2. After the house spread to all the outskirts of Leningrad. It is still being built in a modified form (for example, the Novaya Okhta district).

Panel 137 with aerated concrete outer panels.

Panel 137 series, built in the 90s and 2000s.

panel 121 . Built mainly in Leningrad region. in St. Petersburg in the Soviet years, only a few houses were built in the Krasnogvardeisky and Vyborgsky districts, all of them were point 12-story houses.

Panel 121 modern. A series of panel houses is being built during long term, a modification developed by the Gatchina DSK based on series 121, the buildings are found in the new sleeping areas of St. Petersburg. The apartments have good layouts, large areas. The materials meet the most modern requirements, including heat and sound insulation. The area of kitchens in 121 series is from 12 to 14 sq.m.

Although the kitchen on the ship is small, it can be made cozy and functional thanks to a competent layout, design techniques and modern finishing materials.

“Ship” is a sonorous name given to apartment buildings of the 600th series or Brezhnevka. Impressive with an abundance of windows on the outside, as if indeed ocean liners, they were not very comfortable inside. It is good that today new technologies and opportunities have appeared that make it possible to make apartments more comfortable, and the design of the kitchen in the ship - stylish and modern.

Features of a typical "galley"

The main problems that have to be solved when planning a kitchen in a ship-house:

  • A very small area - about 6 squares, rare lucky ones can boast as much as 9 meters.
  • Unsuccessful placement of the gas pipeline - in the kitchen it runs almost along the center of the wall.
  • The almost complete absence of slopes in window opening and a small window sill. In addition, in the 600.11 series, the entire unit is L-shaped with an additional single-leaf window.
  • A flimsy jumper between the kitchen in the ship and the bathroom - it's just scary to hang heavy headset modules on it.
  • Water pipes embedded in the walls, to which the mixer is directly embedded.
  • Poorly designed ventilation.

If you got just such a kitchen, you will have to seriously redo it in order to get some comfortable and functional space.

Planning questions

The first thing you want to do when you see the kitchens in the ship is to somehow expand the space. For example, demolish a wall or at least part of it to combine a small area with a living room. However, here it must be taken into account that the jumper often turns out to be a carrier, and in this case, the idea of demolition will have to be abandoned.

Whether partial dismantling is possible, only experts will tell you, therefore, in matters of redevelopment, it is better not to engage in amateur activities. But if this option is acceptable, you can make a fairly wide portal or an ordinary door between the living room and the kitchen on the ship. And the existing opening is simply laid and turned into part of the wall. It is also sometimes sheathed with drywall to get a niche for a refrigerator. A great solution for a small kitchen, especially if you make a few more shelves for utensils on top, which are rarely used, but take up a lot of space in cabinets.

You can try to grab some of the usable space from the adjoining bathroom, for which the partition will have to be moved. But even here professional help is indispensable.

Furniture

When the issue with the shape and size of the kitchen on the ship is resolved, and it is already clear what area you have, you can proceed to the choice of furniture. If redevelopment is not possible, and the room is still cramped, you will have to abandon standard headsets and look for modular systems. Or order the manufacture of a set of cabinets according to your size. For owners 8-9 square meters task is simplified by ready-made solutions from manufacturers.

In any case, the kitchen is not happy with a large area, so many items will not fit here. So, you need to reduce their number, but increase the functionality:

  • Replace hinged facades and shelves of the lower row of cabinets with capacious drawers and drawers.
  • Make the most of the opportunities offered by modern embedded technology.
  • Find a place in the kitchen for a tall column cabinet that can accommodate an oven, microwave and other overall equipment.

The arrangement of furniture in the kitchens in the ship is not too diverse. If a small set of cabinets and cabinets is enough for you, you can line them up in one row. But an increase in modules will require everything to be installed in an L-shaped order in order to free up the center of the room as much as possible and provide access to the dining group in the opposite corner. A U-shaped arrangement in such a kitchen is also allowed, but only if the dining area is transferred to the territory of the combined living room.

Sometimes it makes sense to mount a long countertop along the outer wall. It will simultaneously serve as a convenient window sill, and quite a roomy work surface. However, no one prevents you from showing design ingenuity and organizing a dining area here with bar stools and a view of the street.

Let's start repairing

The kitchens in the ship have one indisputable advantage - high ceilings, reaching 2.7 m. This means that in matters of choosing finishes, you can not limit yourself in anything. If you want more space, just paint the ceiling, and to give the room a more modern and original look, you can resort to stretch or multi-level plasterboard structures.

But for wall decoration it is better to choose materials that will maximize the usable area of \u200b\u200bthe kitchen. GKL sheathing will have to be abandoned, as well as plastic lining - to level the base, take ordinary plaster. Then it will be possible to glue washable wallpaper on it, lay out a mosaic of tiles in the working area, or simply paint the surface of the walls in light colors.

By the way, before starting repair work, you should plan in advance the placement of household appliances in the kitchen in the ship. This is necessary to prepare the wiring and install the missing sockets. If you want to use very powerful appliances like an electric oven, you will have to additionally pull a line from the shield.

The choice of flooring for the kitchen is up to you: laminate, linoleum, tile or even porcelain stoneware. But if you are using cold materials, put a warm floor under them to make your feet more comfortable.

Design nuances

All the kitchens in the ship are depressingly small, which means that the main design challenge is to at least visually expand the cramped space. This can be done using popular tricks:

  • Light kitchen wall decoration;
  • Merging the color of the headset with the background;
  • The abundance of mirror, glass and glossy surfaces;
  • open shelves;
  • Bright kitchen lighting;
  • Minimum decoration.

Most popular interior styles meet these requirements. Their list is quite motley, so everyone will find a direction to their liking.

Scandinavian style

White walls and ceilings, whitewashed wood furniture and contrasting floors in warm colors make the kitchen on the ship visually more spacious and lighter. Add a few bright accents in the form of hand-made accessories to give the room more coziness and enliven the interior.

High tech

The abundance of glass and chromed metal is what a small kitchen needs. Add simple cabinet lines and super-functional appliances, and this style is the perfect solution for tight spaces. By the way, hi-tech fully allows open engineering communications, which the kitchens of the 600th series sin with - another plus in its favor.

Minimalism

The main decoration of the interior here is not objects and accessories, but correctly selected colors. Experiment with contrasts and contrasts of tones in the kitchen, and you will achieve amazing harmony even on such small space. But the furniture will need the simplest forms: with smooth flat facades, a minimum of decor and preferably without handles.

Modern

In its modern design, it has much in common with minimalism, but due to a slightly different style philosophy, the kitchen looks more “alive”. Natural colors, materials and even textures are welcome here, and the walls can be additionally decorated with floral ornaments or photo wallpapers depicting nature. And the more realistic the photo on them, the more spacious the room will seem.

In the house-ship, not such an impossible task. The main thing is to act step by step, turning a cramped space into a functional and comfortable interior.

The desire for coziness and comfort is so natural for anyone. modern man. Apartments in houses of the post-Soviet period are not particularly functional, so the need to change the configuration of typical housing is very high today. RiK specialists will advise you on the choice of the best option for redevelopment of the apartment, as well as prepare the entire required package permit documents.
