In the national income, the value of industrial products is 10 times greater than the value of agricultural products. US industry has a large, technically well-equipped material base. However, in conditions of economic instability, even enterprises in the latest industries work with underload; unemployment is constantly rising.

When looking at the US industry map, it is easy to see that all the leading industries have developed in many states. But against such a background, two or three states usually stand out sharply.

Fuel and energy complex. The leading role in the energy economy belongs to oil and natural gas. Over half of the oil produced in the country and even more natural gas comes from the state of Texas with the territories of the south adjacent to it.

In the West, oil developments in California and Alaska are of the greatest importance. Oil and natural gas are transported from production areas to processing centers, some of which are located in the North.

As a result of scientific and technological progress, coal has lost such consumers as the fleet, railways and public utilities. Now it is used mainly by power plants.

Coal is mined in more than 15 states, but the main "coal states" of the country are Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, within which there is part of the country's largest Appalachian coal basin. Recently, the importance of Wyoming in the West has been growing, where coal is mined in an open way and contains little sulfur.

Electricity production is growing very fast. The US is currently the leader in this industry.

Thermal power plants provide the main share of electricity, but in the West, hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of 1-2 million kW produce more than half of the energy consumed. In the electric power industry, the importance of nuclear power plants is rapidly growing.

Ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. Ferrous metallurgy is still concentrated in the north of the country, in such states as Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Almost 4/5 of the iron ore mined in the United States comes from deposits located near Lake Superior. Until recently, 2/3 of the black metal was produced by the factories of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago and other lakeside cities. Now specific gravity of these enterprises decreased due to an increase in metal output by new and reconstructed plants located on the Atlantic coast near Philadelphia and Baltimore. These powerful plants are equipped with the latest technology and operate on imported raw materials.

Non-ferrous metallurgy plants gravitate towards the areas of extraction of raw materials or to ports through which raw materials are imported. Therefore, very many of them are in the West and South. The smelting of aluminum is focused on the hydropower facilities built on the Tennessee and Columbia rivers; on the Mexican coast, aluminum smelters are located near large thermal power plants.

The machine-building complex is distinguished by high science intensity, exceeding the science intensity of the manufacturing industry as a whole by 2.5 times. Another important feature of the complex is the low capital intensity of production: while producing approximately 40% of industrial output, it concentrates only about 20% of the main production capital. Finally, this complex employs 40% of the labor force employed in industry, and the predominant part of high-tech jobs is concentrated here. These features of the machine-building complex contribute to an intensive type of reproduction in industry, a rapid scientific and technical renewal of products, and an increase in the skills of the workforce.

Among the branches of mechanical engineering, the fastest growing industries are electrical engineering, radio electronics, aircraft and rocket building, which are largely working on military orders.

The placement of mechanical engineering basically coincides with the placement of cities and agglomerations. To an even greater extent, this applies to the three megacities of the United States, which actually form the three main machine-building regions of the country. Despite the very large variety of enterprises, individual states stand out for their narrow specialization.

Machine tool building is concentrated mainly within the Lakeside and North-Eastern cities. Factories in the South and West receive machine tools and equipment from the North.

Of the branches of transport engineering, automobile and aircraft building have received especially great development. The automotive industry is the national industry of the United States. Here, for the first time, the mass production of cars began; one in seven working Americans makes or services cars. Automobile factories are located in 125 cities located in 26 states of the country. However, most cars are produced within the Lakeside metropolis. Here are the main "automobile state" of Michigan and the "automobile capital" of the United States - Detroit.

The chemical industry is represented in dozens of centers, but its increased concentration in certain areas is also very characteristic.

The main region of the US oil and gas chemical industry has developed within the oil and gas basin of the Gulf of Mexico. More than 200 enterprises operate here and the "petrochemical capital" of the United States - Houston is located.

Light and food industry. Among industries light industry the textile and leather-shoe industries are the most developed. The textile industry for two centuries was concentrated in the North Atlantic states - the so-called new England, with its center in Boston. But recently there has been a migration of this industry to the South Atlantic states, closer to areas of cheaper labor, areas of production of cotton and synthetic fiber, and markets.

The food industry is represented by powerful combines located in the main agricultural regions and major cities (especially in the North and West).

The location of US industry is greatly influenced by the factors of concentration, labor resources, transport, and more recently, environmental and "science intensity".

Industrial areas and belts. In a country like the United States, one can distinguish many industrial regions of various ranks. The largest among them are three - New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Most of the industrial regions of the United States are included in even larger formations - the four industrial belts.

Particularly important is the role of the oldest northern industrial belt, which stretches for 1,500 km from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi. It includes several old industrial districts and many dozens, if not hundreds, of industrial centers. Although the share of this belt in industrial production The US is down, it continues to be the largest industrial area in the world. The southeastern industrial belt, which has been formed in recent decades, specializes in the production of labor-intensive and energy-intensive products, and a relatively new area of the Gulf of Mexico coast (it is usually called "Gulf" - "Gulf") - in oil refining and petrochemistry. And California is dominated by the latest technology-intensive industries.

Several Russian cities claim to be the capital of Siberia at once. The question is debatable, but no one doubts that the city of Tyumen is considered the oil and gas capital of Russia. A trip to Tyumen changed my idea of this city. After recently visiting many regions of the country, I expected to see something completely different from what I saw.

1. It all started at the most convenient, at least for me, Vnukovo airport, where a Boeing 737-500 of UTair was waiting for us.

2. Travel time to Tyumen 2 hours 50 minutes. After changing the concept of service and refusing to provide food on airline flights, I took a Wupper on board from a well-known fast food chain. Everything would be fine, but this child followed each piece of a hamburger with his eyes into my mouth. Somehow it didn’t even climb :).

3. Upon arrival, we were placed in the hotel "Luch", where UTair crews live during their stay in Tyumen. Clean, new furniture and linens. +30°C on the street was felt in our room. An open window with a mosquito net didn't help.

4. In short, we got on bus number 10, which runs every 30 minutes, and set off to get acquainted with the city. The fare is 22 rubles. And here we are in the city center. A clean and cozy city, which recently celebrated its 430th anniversary.

5. There are many houses of pre-revolutionary construction in the city, but the embankment with the pedestrian Bridge of Lovers across the Tura River is considered the main attraction.

6. In 2003, local DJs Maria Kondratovich and Timur Shkval organized the competition "The Most Unusual Kiss" on the bridge. After that, the Head of the city, Stepan Kirichuk, was asked to rename the bridge from Pedestrian to the Bridge of Lovers.

7. I also like such signs, for which a separate respect to the city administration. It is a pity that the inscription "free" leaves the streets of our cities.

8. In the late 90s, there was an unofficial bungee jumping club in Tyumen, whose members jumped from the bridge on a rope. But in September 1999, a tragedy occurred - due to poor-quality equipment, a 16-year-old teenager crashed to death. After that, these jumps were banned.

9. Although this is the most romantic place in the city, the bridge is also very popular among suicides. According to the rating, it is in first place in the city.

10. It is good that there are not so many of them in the city, as evidenced by the positive inscriptions on the railing of the bridge. :)

12. A couple of interesting facts. It was in Tyumen that the body of V. I. Lenin was evacuated during the Great Patriotic War. And in February 1944, the Tyumen police for two weeks collected cats and cats around the city for shipment to Leningrad, where during the blockade all local felines were eaten and many rodents divorced. 238 "whiskered guardians" were sent to the northern capital, where they gave rise to a new population of Leningrad cats.

14. Now I can say the same thing.

15. Let's move from the embankment to Tsvetnoy Boulevard. As on Tsvetnoy Boulevard in Moscow, there is also an amusement park.

16. There are no problems with food in the city. There are establishments of all fast food chains, as well as many small cafes and restaurants. In local establishments, the cost of "eating" a full meal is sometimes lower than in chain cafes. There are problems with beer, good beer is rare, only brands from Heiniken and SUN InBev are represented. There is, however, a craft beer shop-bar, but I did not reach it.

17. I wanted to ride on this carousel, but the instinct of self-preservation won. :)

20. Do not be alarmed, in 2008 the theater was not corny demolished, but moved to a new building, which with its classical forms, columns, and stucco is somewhat reminiscent of the Moscow Bolshoi. The uniqueness of the building lies in the fact that it was built in record time - 1 year and 8 months, and is located on a hill, under which there is an underground parking for 120 places. The interior decoration matches the pompous facade. The largest hall - 777 seats. Small - for 205 seats. On the fifth floor there is an experimental stage.

21. Closer to the railway station there is a monument to a locomotive.

22. Not far from him "To the railway workers of the front and rear." The Arch, or the Victory Bridge, is made up of railroad tracks from the times of the Great Patriotic War. The left, western pylon of the arch was built from front rails brought from places where major battles took place.

23. The arch is decorated with four reliefs, each of which has its own story. The first shows a teenager and his mother, who are seeing off a train with military personnel leaving the Tyumen depot. With the departure of his father to the war, the schoolboy became the head of the family. The woman has not yet realized the whole tragedy of her husband's departure, she does not know if he will return. The second bas-relief depicts a column of soldiers, one of them looks back, as if he wants to say goodbye to his home, to say warm words to his loved ones. On the other side of the arch, on the third relief, you can see how a worker of the mortar factory carefully carries one of the shells.

24. It was on the day of our visit that the exits to a new interchange in the city were opened, which we learned about on TV when we returned to the hotel.

25. So, imperceptibly for ourselves, in a couple of hours we went around almost the entire city. There was not enough time to inspect individual objects, but we got an idea of the city. And tomorrow there will be the now traditional Airshow "Visiting UTair" at the Plekhanovo airfield. Not everyone knows about it, but UTair has the largest fleet of helicopters in Russia.

26. There is a first time for everything. It was my first flight on a Mi-8-AMT helicopter. This is what Tyumen looks like from the air, but the details are in the report from the air show.

Many thanks to UTair for the invitation to visit Tyumen and the Airshow "Visiting UTair".

All the most operational can be viewed in my

(the territory of the capital of the country -). 48 states are located compactly, two separately: Alaska, bought from the tsarist government of Russia in 1869, and Hawaiian.

By indicators medium density ranked 18th among the most populated countries in the world. Almost 70% of the country's population lives in the east of the country. The USA is one of the most countries in the world, a typical country that, merging, form large megalopolises: Northeast, Lakeside, California, in which the population and countries are concentrated. Rural population lives mainly on farms, but according to the conditions of life, it is not very different from the city.

US industry is different high level production and territorial concentration. It represents all existing industries focused on the production of both mass and serial products.

Formed in more than 15 states, but the country's main coal states are Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming. Electricity is generated in all states, but the largest cascades of power plants have arisen in the states of Tennessee and Washington. industry is developed mainly in Texas. The nuclear industry is also developing dynamically. By the year 2000 it is planned to increase its share in the general energy balance to 25%. concentrated mainly in the north of the country in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio. In the main role belongs to the mountain states, rich in deposits of non-ferrous metal ores.

The level of development is unusually high: in the world export of the aviation industry, the share of the United States is 60%. There is no equal to them in the variety of manufactured products of mechanical engineering. The automotive industry is a national industry with its capital in the city of Detroit. It was there that in 1896, self-taught mechanic Henry Ford tested a homemade car. Then he was the first to start mass production of cheap cars. Since then, the Ford Motor Company has been one of the largest corporations in the world, and its main headquarters are still in Detroit. Major centers There are aerospace and electronic industries in all states, but the states where the US aerospace center - Los Angeles is located, as well as Seattle - the manufacturer of Boeing airliners, stand out.

Urban agglomerations of the Northeastern metropolis - centers. The United States is the undisputed leader in the world both in terms of production volume and in terms of the variety of products. Production is concentrated mainly in the states of Texas and Louisiana, rich in oil and natural gas. The "petrochemical capital" of the United States is the city of Houston. The textile industry is concentrated in the North Atlantic states with Boston as its capital; True, this industry has recently been observed in the southern regions with cheaper labor, cotton production areas.

As for the country, the country has a large and profitable structure of the land fund. AT agriculture animal husbandry clearly predominates (2/3 total cost agricultural products). It is primarily for the breeding of dairy and beef cattle. Pig breeding, poultry farming, and the production of meat chickens (broilers) are also widespread. The profile is determined primarily by grain crops, which occupy 2/3 of all areas. Among the oilseeds, the leading place belongs to soybeans. The role of fruits and vegetables is very great, the main growing area of which is California.

The high level of industry led to the widespread development of all types of transport, especially automobile transport. About 90% of intercity transportation is carried out by him.

Nizhnevartovsk is a city in the Ural federal district Russia, the administrative center of the Nizhnevartovsk region of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, near the Tomsk region.
The city is young and very compact - there is no zoning as such. The city is divided into various micro-districts and an industrial zone. It has its own airport that operates flights within the country, and the railway station is the last station in Western Siberia.

The history of the city begins in 1909, when a wooden pier was built on the banks of the Ob River, where the Vakh River flowed into it. Along with it, several residential huts were built, in which timber harvesters lived. In 1924, its own Nizhnevartovsk village council was opened. In 1964, the settlement was transformed into a working settlement. This is how this settlement would develop slowly, if the teams of geologists did not come here. At first, the formation of the city began when a large oil field was discovered near Samotlor Lake. On May 29, 1965, the first fountain hit, and from that moment Samotlor and Nizhnevartovsk became inseparable. People from all over the country came here to conquer Siberia. The planned development of Nizhnevartovsk began. The place was very swampy, and the construction of the city was given very, very hard.

Nizhnevartovsk is surrounded by forests, consisting mainly of evergreen trees. In the forest you can find many berries and mushrooms. Since the city itself is built on a swamp, swamps and lakes are everywhere, rich in various types of fish. The oxygen content in the atmosphere is generally low due to swamps.

2. central square Nizhnevartovsk. All city events take place here.
Nizhnevartovsk is unique, it does not have a monument to Lenin.

3. On the way to the site of the first oil gusher.

4. Everything is related to oil.
